Students in this class will learn all of the fundamental rules, strategies, and tactics to play a legal game of chess. The class will be split into a lesson, solving puzzles, and playing chess with peers.

Program Schedule & Dismissal Details
Students who would like to attend the 1-hour chess class (3:30–4:30 PM) may register directly for that class.
For students who are dismissed earlier at 2:45 PM and are enrolled in the 3:30 PM class, we provide supervised transition time before chess begins. During this time, students will:
Wait in the library
Complete homework
Read or relax quietly
Be escorted to the cafeteria when it is time for chess class to begin
This ensures a smooth, safe transition and gives students a calm environment before instruction starts.
